I bought this dress for a vintage themed Christmas dinner I went to as I thought that polka dots were very 1950s.
I shall also be wearing it on Christmas Day. I like the maroon colour and think it has a really flattering shape. It would also be ideal for any New Year or late Christmas Parties.
Topshop - £38 (£34.20 with a student discount card with an expiry date)

Because it's Christmas No.1 and for a good cause...
I really love singer Marina and the Diamonds' look at the moment. Her classic vintage style is so hot/cute/out there. Here are a few of my favourite of her looks.
This dress is ridiculously cute. The pale pink is pretty and girly - it goes with the sweet hairband. She still manages to make it look sophisticated and mature thanks to the thin straps, bare arms and minimal accessories. Let the dress do the talking.
I am aware there are men in the background wearing very little. But, focus on Marina and you'll see her wet-look leather skirt and cropped high neck top (similar to the ones in Topshop at the moment (which I love). The high-neck keeps the look classy. This is from her video 'How to be a Heartbreaker' (linked at the bottom) so is purposely edgy and provocative. The outfit is ideal for a petite girl and flatters Marina's figure. To make it more 'wearable' try high waisted jeans or a less glossy skirt.
I love this dress! It's really fun and playful. This look is almost doll-like and I like the Victorian-style silhouette.
A more casual look. I must admit I don't like the bottom half of this outfit (apart from the shoes) as I don't think it flatters her amazing legs. However, I love her coat which looks very classy and the colours go well with the bag and shoes. I like the unusual shape of her flesh-coloured heels.
IT'S NEARLY CHRISTMAS!!! Anyway. Here are a few fashion tips and recommendations for Decemer to survive the cold winter months...
1. Jumpers
(I have no idea why I am pulling that face either?!)
They're ridiculously warm and comfy and they're easy to create an outfit with - you can just chuck on some leggings or jeans. If like me you don't have a uniform, something that makes it easy to put an outfit together is always handy. Both of these jumpers I bought from Primark.
2.Wear vests under tops for extra warmth.
3. Republic has a big sale on at the moment and does student discounts (on the websites it says 10% with an NUS card or unidays code at checkout) though in my experience you can't get student discount on a sale item.
4. Backpacks - Give your shoulders a rest! They are so much more comfortable than handbags but you don't have to sacrifice fashion to wear one as there are lots of different styles and designs. Topshop and Accessorize have good ones.
I bought this one from Accessorise (£32) and use it for college.
6. Wear tights under trousers or leggings for an extra hidden layer.
7. You lose a lot of heat from your head so invest in a hat or some ear warmers.
Asos - £18
John Lewis - £20.00
These ear muffs also work as headphones so you can listen to music while keeping your ears toasty! How cool is that? There seems to be quite a trend for these types of ear muffs recently and I think they'd make a cool Christmas present. John Lewis is a good place to find these and seem to have a quite a selection including an Ugg pair (£75).
8. Accessorize with scarves and gloves. My nan recently told me not to follow fashion but to wear warm clothing and that fashion would kill. Luckily though fashion has moved on with the season and winter coats and warm socks are perfectly acceptable.
9. Invest in a nice winter coat. You are probably going to be wearing this a lot so get one you really like and that will go with anything.
If you live somewhere which is still warm and you don't have to worry about your hands dropping off it's so cold i am so jealous of you right now! I hope you found this useful. Don't forget to fill in the poll!
Firstly, I'd just like to apologize that I haven't done a blog post in a while. The amount of work you get at college is crazy. And there was me naively thinking that by doing less subjects I'd have less work!
This is just a quick outfit of the day post. Recently I went to a Speech Night at my school to pick up my GCSE certificates. This basically involves having your name and GCSE results read out and then having to go shake hands with and get a cerificate from the 'guest of honour' in front of an audience. The dress code was formal and this is what I decided to wear as I didn't feel like going with the typical blazer and skirt/trousers suit.
The pink dress is from Next though I didn't buy it recently. I am wearing simple black tights and the spiked ankle boots from Office I can be seen wearing in previous posts. I like formal dresses like this because they're versatile and can be dressed up and down. Also, gone are the days when smart wear was all greys and blacks - colour is in! By the way, if you're looking for smart wear H and M usually have a good selection of blazers and smart jackets.
Don't forget to get involved guys and take part in the poll and follow me on twitter! @Rida1_B
I have seen so many similar boot to the ones I have in loads of different shops so I thought I'd do a post in the hope that many people would be able to relate who may have similar shoes.
My Shoes
These shoes are from Office and are really comfy and versatile so I've got lots of wear out of them. They cost £80, which is the most expensive item of clothing I've ever bought, I think I got excited after getting my birthday money and being able to use student discount for the first time. They were worth it though! I keep seeing clothes I want to buy so I really want a job now, even though I have hardly any time.
Outfit 1 - Casual But Fun
Primark are really good for print tops like this one which I got from there ages ago. I think these sort of tops can be fun and mean you don't have to make as much of an effort with the rest of the outfit. H and M have some really cool jeans at the moment like these which I got for £24.99.
Outfit 2 - Shorts and Statement Tights
I have an obession with tights that's bordering on abnormal and these ones look like a comic strip so i couldn't resist them when I first saw them. I think they're from Dark Muse which do amazing tights (and Topshop do as well). I know some people hate tights and ankle boots together but I like it : altough I did wear socks under my boots just for extra grip.
Outfit 3 - Smart Casual
This outfit is smart casual as I have dressed down the dress with a denim waistcoast.Plus, as Gok Wan* has taught me a belt around your waist enhances your figure more. Again I have worn the boots with some simple black tights (they actually have a stocking effect with little pink hearts on but this is covered by the dress).
Outfit 4 - Little Black Dress
This outfit wasn't actually intended for this blog post as I was just wearing it out-and-about and thought I might as well stick it in. It's quite similar to the previous outfit. But I wore a longer denim jacket and tights (again!) with various London landmarks on.
Thanks for reading!

Whilst making this I was listening to...
*Gok Wan - UK stylist who had his own fashion shows.
So for the first time in my life I don't have to wear a uniform. I was really excited about being able to choose my outfits but soon realised I was starting to run out of ideas. So I decided to do a series of 'Outfit of the day' posts to maybe give people ideas of casual outfits to wear.
I like this outfit as it's super comfortable with a loose-fitting shirt and black leggings. I'm usually wary of leggins because of VPL and camel toe but with this outfit especially it was fine as I wore a long shirt. Also, I'm a massive fan of the collar-trend which is still around now so I love the embellishment on the collar of this shirt. I added some colour and warmth with a green hoodie and red gilet as I love my outfits to be bright even if they clash sometimes!
Price List - (Anything that I bought recently and is still likely to be in stores)
I know so many girls who have to literally force themselves to walk past Topshop without them running in pushing any obstacles out the way like a hungry predator. And is it just me or does Topman smell so good? Everytime I go into that shop I never want to leave - it's just so enchanting! Forget Hollister, Topman smells SO good! Anyway... Back to the clothes:
These are my fave three items at the moment:
Shorts - £28.00
Leggings - £20.00
Shirt - £34.00
This is a great festival look. I really like how versatile these three items are. Unfortunately, all the stuff is on the pricey side. Also, the leggings were too long for me so propably not the best for petite girls. As the summer *whispers it* is coming to an end, we have to make sure items won't just last the summer. Leggings are season chameleons and can be worn anytime, the same with the long green shirt. The shorts will also last through the seasons. For example you could wear them with tights, some ankle boots (River Island £85.00) ,a faux fur gilet (New Look, £24.99 online)and a bowler hat - just cause they're cool (Urban Outfitters, £22.00) for a more autumnly feel.
On hot days:
To a festival:
Until next time.

P.s. Confession: I bought the shorts. This is how i wore them on a day out visiting museums.
So I recently had my prom! Choosing a prom dress was harder than I thought it was going to be. There are so many different styles to choose from and there were so many I liked. The one I finally decided on was (as you can see) fitted and pink at the top with a sweetheart neckline but then at the bottom it had layers of black ruffles. I bought the dress online but it was originally a cream colour, the colour I choose was called 'watermelon.' I liked the colour as it was unusual but it was impossible to find shoes that matched it. I bought my shoes from Schuh.
I went against the trend of having a long prom dress as I wanted to buy a dress that I wouldn't just wear once and knowing me I'm more likely to wear a shorter dress. I dressed up my outfit with a side bun using the doughnut to make it more elegant and dotted the cute hairclips with flowers on in my head. Also, I wore a matching necklace and dangly earrings that looked quite classy.I really admire the typical Victorian silhouette where a dress goes in at the waist and then out at the bottom, so I guess that was my inspiration.
Plus, sorry there aren't any pictures of me in the dress they're not on my camera. So I need to get the camera, I will try to post them ASAP.
